This exercise will help you get back on the stream. Then you can flow, look, enjoy and navigate until you come upon the next block causing you to turn your boat in the wrong direction. With some practice, in time, you will no longer be turning your boat around every time something looking slightly troublesome comes up. That's why people start going upstream in the first place. They see rocks coming up in the river. It is a healthier exercise to navigate around the rocks or speed up to jump over them with a sense of self-confidence and joy. But in full self-confidence and expertise, you see that you will confront the rocks either way, whether you waste energy by going upstream and then crash into the rocks or whether you approach them and steer in confidence and easily put them behind you. If you go fearlessly toward the rocks, you will have the energy to jump over them or navigate around them. From this you can see that procrastination is a mostly useless activity. Just a little bit of procrastination may allow you to adjust the angle by which you approach the rock, but anything beyond that little bit is a fear-based waste of time.
Nobody is forcing you to choose extremely fast streams. Nobody is stopping you from using paddle brakes on those fast streams. You can easily choose more calm waters. Following the context of this analogy you can see the danger of going at extreme speeds. Extreme speeds are best left to experts. In other words, if you are a beginner at reality creation and you are visualizing intensely on a daily basis, your boat will speed up. Not being accustomed to the various parameters of navigation and the life stream you can crash into unseen rocks. Had you gone a bit slower, the crash wouldn't set you back. You'd be back into the stream again within minutes. Having gone much too quickly, because your ego is trying to prove its worth, the crash could injure you and the boat. In other words, if your mood is level two, you don't get into a wild level five river. It’s safer to choose a level three stream.
Go easy on yourself. Never give anything too much importance and keep guiding your attention to the beautiful, the true and the simple. The stream analogy does contain everything required for a happy and effective life. But you can also extrapolate the metaphor to find out more things, other aspects and even well kept world secrets. A metaphorical story is a tool from which you can gain answers to many different things. That's why I set the template with this stream analogy, so that you can continue with further thinking on the subject and gain insights on your own.
Row, row, row your boat gently down the stream. Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily, life is but a dream.
